how to build a wooden boat dock ? Does anyone have plans ?

We are looking to construct a floating wooden boat dock for our camp on the river. Any help with plans would be much appreciated.

1. 40 gallon drums,x6 bolt on a frame to desired size then deck it out with old colorbond fence sheets
2. In building your dock the first thing to consider is floatation. Yes, I know wood floats but it's weight to density is fairly high. That's why oil drums or foam is used to support the dock. In fact the use of wood has fallen in any dock building because it has a relatively short lifespan. It rots. Can I suggest using several plastic drums. plugged of course, and maybe Alum channel for the frame and deck. While slightly more expensive it will out last wood. Be sure to use Stainless steel fasteners. The only other consideration is how are you going to anchor the dock in place?
