does anyone have plans for a kitchen garden window?

I would like to build this window from wood.

  1. Once you frame your window out use glass shelves so that sunlight can reach your bottom plants. If you find the plants get to hot and dry out: use a static cling uv lining on the inside of the window, this way you can remove it and put it back up when you need it. I suggest you make your shelves adjustable because once you get into it you'll find yourself addicted to changing it around all the time! You can also use tracking in front of the window if you have plants that need to hang in the sun for 6 hours a day. If you don't want any messes with water [go to the dollar store] pick up plates, they need to be about 1 inch bigger than the bottom of your plant bases, this way if you do over water a little the plate will catch the water. Make sure you check the plates a few hours after you water your plants so you don't have any smells, bacteria can form on the bottom of the plant bases and kill your plants. Hope this helps...Happy Gardening!
